Yoga Nidra is both a process and a condition. Typically there are seven to ten stages to attain the condition. The first stages relax the body, mind, and breath. The middle stages move consciousness through the higher stages of yoga - detachment from senses, concentration and meditation. During this time the student is led through scenarios to obtain various benefits. The final stages offer a gradual return to the body and mind. When skilled, the practitioner can continue super-consciousness during daily living. Human movement studies all possible joint movements. During the class, one studies single movements available in a joint and combination of movements that are used in daily life. Through the inclusion of awareness and relaxation, human movement prepares the mind for Yoga Nidra.
